Website Updates!

I have tweaked a few things and updated others on the website.

1. There is now an additional map of our location at the Unitarian Church. It will pop up when a user clicks on the link for a detailed site map.

2. I've added a link for the Canada Line map, too.

3. An additional blurb about who we are and what we believe has been added to the "Who-What" page.

4. I've included a copy of the 2010 Pentecost liturgy, without the music, in the "What to Expect" section of the "Who-What" page.

I had intended to upload a copy of the 2009 Annual Report, because the link to that report is broken, but I don't seem to have a copy of the file. If someone can send it to me, I'll upload it to the site.

Is there anything else that comes to mind for anyone?

Community Potluck & Board Meeting

Our regular monthly potluck supper will be on August 7th after worship. There will also be a brief meeting of the Board of Directors. All are welcome to attend!

Music before Worship

All are welcome to join us at 4:30 on Saturdays to practice music, work on singing harmony and do some drumming before the 5:00 p.m. worship service.

This is just to remind everyone that all who are interested in learning how to post to our weblog and calendar will meet this evening at 7:00 at a private home for a hands-on workshop.

In the interest of protecting members' privacy, I'm not posting the address here. If you don't know whose home or where it is, please e-mail Ann at pacificinterchristiancommunity (at) gmail.com.

Arts & Hearts this summer

Beginning on 6 July and continuing each Tuesday through the summer, the Arts and Hearts group will meet @ 10:00 in the parking lot of the Unitarian Church on sunny days for a park/garden tour/hike we call "Re-discovering Eden."

On rainy days come on into the Hewett Building for a creative outreach activity. The current project proposal is being discussed with First United Church and is intended to help with fund raising for their expansion programme.

PIC Website Info Night July 5

PIC members interested in learning how to interact with our website--posting events on the calendar and writing entries on our blog--will meet with Ann on Monday, July 5th at 7:00 p.m. at a private residence, for a hands-on demonstration. We can't meet at the church because we don't have a wireless connection there. If you would like to know more about this, please e-mail pacificinterchristiancommunity (at) gmail.com

Note: Put the e-mail address in standard format. It's written as it is, above, in order to deter spam.

Credits

I want to give credit for the various design resources I used to create our website. At the moment, this credit appears at the end of the HTML code on each page:
CREDITS: This website was designed by Ann Bemrose, adapting Matthew James Taylor's multi-column stacked layout. The dropdown navigation menu is derived from an example by Patrick Griffiths and Dan Webb found at A List Apart. The line drawings are used with permission from the Hermanoleon Clipart site. Our weblog is hosted by Blogger and our calendar is a Google application.

I plan to put this info into a popup window attached to the Why & How menu once I've learned how to write the javascript for it. Other commitments have priority at the moment, so I'll come back to this in a week or so.
